One of IEP Australia’s newest Fellows wants to use his role to contribute to a stronger, more inclusive future for the country’s Employability Sector.
Corey Balfoort FIEP is Operations Manager at the New South Wales-based Castle Personnel with over a decade of experience.
He leads a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites, supporting staff and participants through integrated employment and community engagement programs.
“Becoming a Fellow was a deliberate step to contribute meaningfully to the Employment Services sector in a rare, non-competitive setting—one that fosters collaboration over competition,” he says.
“The Fellowship represents an opportunity to both influence and be influenced by others committed to lifting the industry as a whole.
“For me, it’s about opening lines of communication between participants, partners, and employers to co-create life-changing employment opportunities.”
Corey’s approach blends person-centred practice with cross-sector collaboration, working closely with partner organisations across housing, health, mental health, justice and NDIS.
And he is known for designing and delivering responsive, values-driven services that promote employability for individuals facing complex barriers.
“It’s about driving inclusive employment and delivering impactful services,” he says.
“Most importantly, it’s a platform to grow personally and professionally while contributing to a stronger, more inclusive future – one that empowers individuals and strengthens entire communities.”
As a Fellow of the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP), Corey contributes to advancing the profession through peer-led development, policy influence, and a shared commitment to impactful, community-focused employment services.
We are thrilled to have him on board, joining our growing collective of like-minded employability professionals around Australia.
