Dave Scragg FIEP is among the latest batch of employability experts to join the IEP Australia Fellowship program, saying he wants to help change the sector for the better.
Currently serving as DES Operations Manager at Edge Employment Solutions, Dave has a decade of experience in the employability sector.
“I am delighted to be recognised and awarded as a Fellow of the Institute of Employability Professionals, joining some of the most respected individuals in this sector is very humbling,” he says.
“When I entered the industry 10 years ago, I had no idea of the need and impact that we play in the daily lives of not just our participants but the broader community.
“Not only do we need to advocate for our participants, but we have an obligation to educate and empower employers, community stakeholders and the public as to the challenges that are faced in the employment sector.”
Dave says he understands the need for a more highly skilled employability sector here in Australia.
“As leaders we also have an obligation to ensure that our staff are given the best opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge to grow as individuals to improve the quality of service that we offer.
“As a senior leader working within the disability employment sector in Australia, I am excited as to what the future looks like over the coming months with the introduction of the new Inclusive Employment Australia contract, and I look forward to being instrumental in that change for the better.
“The IEP plays a crucial role in supporting the employability sector, supporting practitioners, and helping to set high standards for the profession.
“I am fortunate to be working with such a supportive and talented team at Edge Employment Solutions, and together we will continue to grow and offer quality support to participants and the sector.”
Congratulations, Dave, on being part of the IEP Australia Fellowship program.
