The IEP Summit Australia 2025 is shaping up to be a must-attend event for professionals in employment, skills, and social impact. Taking place on Tuesday 14 October 2025 at 12-Micron in Barangaroo, Sydney, the Summit arrives at a pivotal moment for the sector, as we prepare for the transition to Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) – the most significant commissioning reform in a generation.
The shift from DES to Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) is one of the biggest changes our sector has seen, and it’s coming fast. With the new model taking effect from 1 November 2025, the Summit couldn’t be timelier. This is our opportunity to gather, make sense of the changes, and prepare together.
Welcoming Our Third Keynote: Professor Leisa Sargent
We are thrilled to announce that Professor Leisa Sargent, Dean of the University of Sydney Business School, will join the Summit as our third keynote speaker. An internationally recognised expert in organisational behaviour, Professor Sargent has led transformative initiatives in equity, diversity, and inclusion across business education and research. She will be providing her unique insights on the changing nature of organisational leadership.
A Space for Sector-Led Insight
The IEP Summit is designed to bring people together to share lived experience, professional insight, and practical ideas. We’re inviting Fellows and practitioners across the sector to contribute their voices and perspectives, joining our keynote speakers in meaningful, grounded conversations on topics including the impact of AI, the evolving nature of skills in society, organisational leadership, talent management and attrition and retention.
A Line-Up of Influential Voices
Professor Sargent joins a powerful line-up of speakers, including:
- Professor Barney Glover AO, Commissioner of Jobs and Skills Australia, with deep experience in education policy, community engagement, and support for First Nations Australians and disadvantaged groups.
- Patrick Kidd OBE OAM, CEO of the Future Skills Organisation, former military leader and Invictus Games Sydney 2018 CEO, bringing a unique perspective on digital skills, inclusive leadership, and transformation at scale.
Together, our keynote speakers will explore what the future of Employment Services in Australia could and should look like, through the lens of innovation, evidence, equity, and community need.
We’re looking forward to Fellows coming together to shape these conversations — and to creating a rich, insightful dialogue that reflects the professionalism and diversity of our sector.
