A former South Australian police officer who survived being shot 14 times will share his story of leadership, endurance and resilience at the IEP Summit Australia this October.

We are thrilled to announce Derrick McManus of the Australian Centre for Human Durability will be the dinner speaker at our event, being held at Sydney’s 12-Micron on Tuesday 14 October.

Derrick McManus is going to tell us about those 14 bullets, the three hours lying on the ground, and what it took him to not just survive the unimaginable but to thrive personally, professionally and mentally afterward. He will also have you laughing at the crazy things you think and that happen during a real-life nightmare.

However, Summit attendees will also take away clear strategies and tools to use so you can go beyond resilience to, what Derrick terms as, Sustained Optimal Performance – the very best you can do in the face of the challenges and changes in your life.

The Australian Centre for Human Durability partners in research with UniSA School of Psychology to redefine leadership, resilience, and durability for the modern workplace. His research-backed Human Durability framework equips leaders and organisations to not just bounce back, but to sustain optimum performance under any pressure.

Derrick works internationally with CEOs and hairdressers, fighter pilots and electricians, elite sports and kids in school, giving him a broad perspective to help you perform at your best, be happier and healthier with less stress, and achieve the success you’re looking for.
