IEP Australia’s Supporting People with Complex Barriers program is off to a strong start, with positive feedback from the current cohort. New dates will be announced soon, so now is a great time to register your interest to be the first to know when the next intake opens.

Frontline practitioners know that the people they support often face a mix of challenges at once — trauma, mental health concerns, housing instability, disability, family violence and more. This program was built for that reality.

Delivered over four live, two-hour sessions, it gives practitioners practical tools and grounded strategies to engage safely and effectively with people experiencing complex barriers — while also protecting their own wellbeing. Participants leave with skills they can apply straight away, including building trust with people who’ve had difficult service experiences, communicating with someone who feels overwhelmed, and supporting realistic progress without losing direction.

The course can be tailored to a range of settings including Employment Services, NDIS, Youth and Community programs, and Housing and Crisis support.

The program is facilitated by Ellie Fuller MIEP, IEP Australia’s Partnership and Learning Consultant. Ellie’s background spans employment services, disability and inclusion, learning and development, and workforce training, with firsthand experience working alongside frontline staff, leaders and employers. She brings a deep understanding of what drives real practice improvement and better outcomes across the sector — and that knowledge is woven through every session.
