We are excited to announced Sharon Potaka FIEP, Executive General Manager at BUSY Ability, has joined the IEP Fellowship in Australia.
BUSY Ability is part of The BUSY Group, a multi-national not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing communities through education, skills and employment.
Sharon’s career spans employment, disability and youth services across Australia and New Zealand. She has worked alongside participants, employers, community partners and teams to create meaningful opportunities for others.
She is passionate about developing future leaders, building capability across the employability sector and finding better ways to support people into meaningful employment.
“At the heart of everything I’ve done throughout my career is people,” Sharon said.
“Whether it’s supporting participants, developing leaders or building capable teams, creating opportunities for others has always been what matters most to me.”

Sharon’s people-focused and collaborative approach to leadership has been shaped by the individuals, teams and communities she has worked alongside throughout her career.
As an IEP Fellow, Sharon looks forward to sharing her experience, supporting other professionals and continuing to learn from the wider IEP community.
About the IEP Fellowship
Fellows of the IEP are a community of passionate and influential professionals from within the Employability sector. They work to share best practice across the sector, and to support the vision and mission of the IEP.
Fellows are usually expected to have been working in Employability or a related sector for at least seven years, to have participated in or supported activities across the sector, to be prepared to play a role in advancing the sector, and to be committed to Continued Professional Development. Candidates undergo a professional development interview, which is vital to the professional standing of the IEP.
